India Adventures: The Beatles Ashram

Sunday Funday! Since Sundays are the only days of the week we don’t have to get up at 5 am to attend our Yoga Teacher Training classes we decided to explore the area around Rishikesh and walked to the Ashram, where the Beatles studied Transcendental Meditation with their Guru Maharishi Mahesh Yogi in 1968.

I’ve never seen something like this! The Beatles Ashram is an extremely special place, located in the middle of the Rajaji Tiger Reserve, the last natural habitat of elephants in North India. It is home to Elephants, Leopards, Deers, many birds and Tigers.

Sadly the Ashram is closed now… However, the jungle is re-conquering the place and the stunning architecture is offering a home to monkey families and cows.
